Story of the week

This is hilarious.

San Francisco may sue Nevada over alleged 'patient dumping'

San Francisco on Wednesday threatened to sue Nevada over the practice of "patient dumping," in which the state allegedly sent hundreds of indigent mentally ill patients on one-way trips to California.

Sometimes the jokes just write themselves, don't they? San Francisco is now officially a dumping ground for lunatics and the mentally disadvantaged. Good luck trying to round up all the nutters in California, the home of electrosensitivity, multiple chemical sensitivity, thirdhand smoke and Stanton Glantz.

I suspect this has been going on for decades.

Is Silicon Valley now on the way to become Silly Valley?

Very sensible, too. Surely better to have all the like-minded people in one place, eh? SF is the obvious destination for them.

I can hear the negotiations over this patient dumping.

San Francisco: Come on, guys, we’ve already taken many hundreds of your patients. And we’ve settled many of them with academic positions in the University of California. We’ve even given the glorified mechanic, Stantonitis Glands, a professorship in medicine.

Nevada: Just a few hundred more, guys. And, btw, we gave Stantonitis a PhD in mechanical engineering. He used to be a janitor at the Sands casino.

San Francisco: OK. How’s this. We’ll take two hundred of your patients if you take back Stantonitis.

Nevada: You’re killing us, guys. Two hundred! Only two hundred!! Now if you’re willing to take 1,000 of our patients, we’ll take back Stantonitis. You can appreciate that we would have to put in place a comprehensive program to contain Stan.

San Francisco: 1,000 patients for Stan? …….It’s a deal.
